CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s black magic: for 'Black Magic' to successfully transform and maintain its legendary, almost black tone, it needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy the gentle morning or late evening sun rays). If the plant is in too much shade, the leaves will simply stay greenish. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly and irreversibly burn its unique, precious leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate, regular, and very thoughtful. Unlike the small jewel alocasias, this larger species sister likes slightly more regular moisture, but still does not tolerate swampy conditions. Water when the top layer of soil (the upper third of the pot) has just dried out between waterings! Since the plant is in a great, stable 11 cm pot, it will retain moisture a bit longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate standing water in the saucer or decorative pot, which can quickly cause root and tuber rot. Reduce watering in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical queen (ideally +18°C to +25°C), which will be extremely happy with moderate to high air humidity (above 50-60%). High humidity helps the new, grand leaves open easily and without cracks, as well as keeps the leaf surface perfectly healthy and matte. It will be endlessly grateful for a spot near a humidifier. In winter, strictly protect from cold drafts and icy windowsills!
