Royal Tricolor Philodendron 'Red Anderson' (Philodendron 'Red Anderson')

Get ready to welcome one of the most coveted, dramatic, and prestigious luxury rarities in the plant world into your collection – the legendary Philodendron 'Red Anderson'! This elite-class hybrid is a true botanical gem that excites collectors with its stunning tricolor (tricolor) magic. Its smooth, firm, spear-heart-shaped leaves boast a completely unique color play: against a rich, dark green and sometimes almost chocolate-toned background, pure snow-white, cream, and grayish spots and stripes stand out dramatically. But the true masterpiece of nature reveals itself in the plant’s fiery character – new shoots and the mottled leaf zones flourish in pleasant pink, rose, and passionate red tones, which gradually turn white as the leaf matures. This colorful display is perfectly completed by expressive, dark red leaf stems. This is a climbing variety known for its strong structure and ability to grow royal-sized leaves over time. Currently, it is a small, compact, yet distinctly energetic and top-quality 10-15 cm young plant in a tiny 6 cm mini pot. It is an air-purifying vine/houseplant that will add an elite-class, modern, and distinctly exclusive accent to any interior. It is the most prestigious and breathtaking gift for the most passionate rarity hunters and design connoisseurs!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s tricolor brilliance: since the bright pink and white areas of the leaves contain no chlorophyll, the plant vitally needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy gentle morning or late evening sun rays) to maintain the expressive, contrasting variegation and prevent new leaves from emerging simply green. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will sharply and irreversibly burn its delicate, colorful leaf parts. An east or west-facing windowsill is the perfect choice.

  • 💧 Watering: Moderate and very thoughtful. Philodendrons do not tolerate overly frequent watering and root soaking. Water only when the top layer and the middle layer of the soil between waterings are completely dry! Since the compact young plant is in a small 6 cm mini pot, it will dry out relatively quickly, but the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which can quickly cause rot in the sensitive young roots. If in doubt – feel free to wait a few more days.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C) that adapts relatively well to normal indoor light. Of course, it will appreciate moderate to high humidity (above 50-60%), which helps new leaves bloom even more beautifully, open without cracks, and protects the light leaf edges from premature drying. It will be grateful for a spot near a humidifier or in a plant cabinet. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!

  • 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all philodendrons, 'Red Anderson' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place this beautiful and expensive young plant out of reach of your four-legged friends.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:

  • Bright and warm spots by the window, shelves, or desks in morning/evening sun (ideal environment for maintaining the unique pink and white tones and convenient placement due to its compact young plant size).

  • Modern living rooms, home offices, or plant cabinets where this unusual and royal plant will serve as the main interior design and conversation piece.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 10-15 cm (compact baby plant / exceptionally valuable and exclusive young plant)

  • Pot diameter: 6 cm (mini pot)

⚠️ Note and reality check: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the exact density of red, pink, and white areas on its leaves may vary (some leaves may bloom with pronounced variegation, others greener – this is a natural and excitingly unpredictable trait of variegated plants). It is critically important to keep in mind that you are receiving a young plant (in a 6 cm pot)! Such small plants require gentler, more careful, and patient handling at first compared to mature plants. Since this is a climbing philodendron, in the future, when the plant grows and is repotted, it will be infinitely grateful for a decorative moss or coconut fiber support – feeling stability, its aerial roots will become stronger, and the leaves will grow larger, more expressive, and more spectacular with each step. When repotting this plant in the future, ALWAYS use an extremely airy, porous, and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine orchid bark) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
