CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but ABSOLUTELY indirect light. This is the main secret behind this plant’s variegated foliage and abundant flowering: Aeschynanthus 'Variegatus' needs plenty of filtered light to maintain the vivid contrast of its leaves and produce new flower buds (it will especially enjoy gentle morning sun). If the light is insufficient, the plant will not flower and its leaves will become noticeably greener. Strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can quickly burn its delicate, light-colored leaf sections. An east- or west-facing windowsill will suit it best.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate, regular, and very careful. The lipstick plant prefers consistent, light moisture, but it does not tolerate waterlogged soil or drowning roots. Water the plant thoroughly, but only when the top layer of soil (the upper 1–2 cm of the pot) has dried out between waterings. The soil in the pot should be pleasantly moist, like a wrung-out sponge. Since the plant is in a 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture well, but it strictly cannot tolerate its roots standing in stagnant water in the saucer, which can quickly cause leaf drop and root rot. Reduce watering slightly in winter. Water with lukewarm, soft water.
