Exclusive Silver Metallic Alocasia 'Corazon' (Alocasia heterophylla 'Corazon')
Get ready to welcome the most exquisite, intriguing, and highly prized tropical treasure among houseplant connoisseurs into your collection – the stunning Alocasia 'Corazon'! This rare and refined variety naturally grows on limestone cliffs in the rainforests of the Philippines and belongs to the absolute elite of the alocasia world. The plant’s greatest pride and main hallmark is its completely surreal, sculptural foliage: its smooth, firm leaves boast a distinctive and elegant "arrow" or spearhead shape, covered with a magical, silvery metallic sheen of bluish-green and jade tones. The leaf surface looks as if cast from precious metal and flawlessly reflects light, while its base color dramatically highlights the delicate, flowing vein structure. This little natural masterpiece is not only a breathtaking interior design accent but also an active air purifier. Currently, it is a very small, elegant, and extremely valuable 15-20 cm compact baby seedling / young plant in a miniature 8 cm pot. It is the most coveted, prestigious, and guaranteed unforgettable gift for passionate plant collectors, rarity hunters, and those who want to watch with their own eyes how a small exotic sprout grows into a great work of natural art!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright, pleasant, but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s silvery metallic shine: Alocasia 'Corazon' loves a well-lit environment that helps maintain its unique, bright tone and form compact, firm leaves. However, it categorically and strictly cannot tolerate direct midday sun, which will instantly scorch its delicate, precious leaves and cause irreversible damage. The best spot is near an east or west window with filtered light.
-
💧 Watering: Extremely moderate, precise, and careful. Since this is a very small young plant in a small 8 cm pot, its root system is still developing, and the soil dries out faster than in larger pots. Water the plant moderately only when the top layer of soil (the upper 1-2 cm of the pot) has just started to dry out between watering sessions! The soil should always be lightly and pleasantly moist like a squeezed sponge, but the plant categorically cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer or decorative pot – this will instantly cause rot in the baby’s sensitive roots. Water only with lukewarm, soft, or filtered water.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A tropical princess that loves warmth and humidity (ideally +18°C to +25°C). Alocasias naturally adore high air humidity (above 60%). To ensure this valuable young plant thrives flawlessly and new leaves open effortlessly, place it near a humidifier or on a tray with moist pebbles. In winter months, strictly protect it from dry radiator air and cold, icy drafts!
-
🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all alocasias, 'Corazon' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if leaves or stems are chewed. Place this rare collector’s plant out of reach of four-legged friends.
🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:

⚠️ Note and reality check about alocasia babies: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the exact density of its leaf’s silvery tone may vary slightly, creating a unique natural form. Since this is still a young and compact seedling, it develops very dynamically – each new leaf will grow larger, longer, and with a more pronounced arrow shape. Important secret: alocasia babies do not like to be immediately repotted into too large a pot. Let it live in this same 8 cm pot until the roots boldly start to peek through the bottom drainage holes. When you repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, light, and well-draining 'aroid' type soil mix (peat richly mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine bark) to ensure the roots receive maximum oxygen and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
