This extraordinarily unusual, rare, and textured Alocasia 'Maharani', also known among plant lovers as the "Grey Dragon," is a true botanical gem! It belongs to the "Jewel Alocasia" group, which means that even when mature, it will remain relatively compact and will not grow into a giant bush. CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, but indirect light. For this plant's smoky leaves and texture to develop fully, good lighting is vital. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will quickly burn and fade its delicate leaves. An east- or west-facing windowsill is an absolutely excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular, but extremely careful! Here lies the most important secret of young plants and Jewel Alocasias: their thick leaves mean that the plant can store water somewhat better than other alocasias, so it is VERY sensitive to overwatering. Keep the soil evenly and lightly moist, but be sure to let the top layer dry out between waterings. It absolutely cannot tolerate its roots soaking in stagnant water in the saucer, which will very quickly cause root rot.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It loves warmth and literally adores very high humidity! A humidifier, plant cabinet, or placement on a tray of wet pebbles is almost essential for this plant's survival and beauty. Strictly protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations!

• 🐾 Pets: Absolutely not pet-friendly. Like all alocasias, this plant is toxic to cats and dogs. Its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals, which cause severe irritation of the mouth and throat, drooling, and digestive problems when chewed. Keep it completely out of your pets' reach!

• Bright plant cabinet (an absolutely ideal and protected environment for rarities of this size, where they can enjoy consistently high humidity).

• A bright, warm spot near a humidifier.

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about young plants: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the grayish hue of its leaves may vary slightly. It is extremely important to understand that you are receiving a "baby" (in an 8 cm pot)! Small, rare plants must be handled much more gently and patiently than mature, large specimens. It is important to know nature's secrets: alocasias, especially at an early age, very often sacrifice their old leaves for the sake of new ones! It is completely normal for the lowest leaf to slowly turn yellow and wither when a new, beautiful leaf grows—do not panic, and simply cut it off carefully at the base. Once the plant has grown and the 8 cm pot becomes too small, when repotting, be sure to use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (generously blended with perlite, fine orchid bark, pumice, and sphagnum moss), so its roots can breathe freely and be protected from the risk of rot!
