CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For the alocasia to grow large, expressive leaves and not become leggy, it needs a vital amount of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will instantly burn its thin and unique leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular and very attentive. Alocasias like evenly slightly moist soil during active growth but are very sensitive to overwatering. Allow the top layer of soil (about 3-5 cm deep) to dry out slightly between watering. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause rot.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives in warm room temperatures, but the biggest survival secret of this plant is air humidity! It literally loves increased air humidity (a humidifier nearby will be its best friend to prevent leaf tips and thin "tails" from drying out and getting damaged). In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause severe irritation of the mouth and throat, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing if chewed. Keep it safely out of reach of pets!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:

• Bright bathroom with a window (if there is enough light, the plant will love the natural humidity).

• Bright and warm living room right next to a humidifier (as an absolutely unique design element).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its leaf shape may vary slightly. Important to know the natural secrets about alocasias: it is completely normal and natural for them to shed the oldest (bottom) leaf when a new leaf grows! This helps the plant save energy. If leaves start yellowing massively, check the watering routine. Alocasias may enter a dormant period in winter – they may stop growing and even lose some leaves (reduce watering during this time and stay calm; it will wake up again from the tuber in spring). Also remember – the biggest enemy of alocasias in dry air is spider mites, so regularly check the undersides of leaves and wipe them. When repotting, be sure to use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (richly mixed with orchid bark and perlite) so the thick roots can breathe freely.
