CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. For this alocasia to maintain its compact form, color contrast, and expressive veining, it needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy morning or late evening sun). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn its delicate, thick leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate and very thoughtful. Like all jewel alocasias, it does not tolerate overly frequent watering. Allow the top layer of soil and the middle layer (about the first third of the pot) to dry out completely between waterings! The plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause sensitive root and tuber rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C) that will be extremely happy with increased air humidity (above 55-60%). In dry indoor air, its leaf tips may start to dry out, so it will appreciate a spot near a humidifier, inside a closed plant cabinet, or on a pebble tray with water. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts and icy windowsills!

• 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all alocasias, 'Teletubbies' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place the plant out of their reach.

Important nature secrets to know: alocasias grow cyclically and, to develop a new, stronger leaf, they often sacrifice and shed their oldest, smallest leaf (which naturally turns yellow and dries out) – there is no need to worry about this; it is a completely normal process. Do not repot this plant immediately into a too large pot – alocasias prefer their root system to have a relatively compact environment. When you repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, orchid bark, and coconut chips) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
