Royal Silver Amydrium (Amydrium medium 'Silver')

Get ready to bring one of the most coveted, refined, and rare tropical treasures into your collection – the stunning Silver Amydrium (Amydrium medium 'Silver')! This exclusive member of the aroid family is a true collector’s dream and a masterpiece of natural art. The plant’s greatest pride, magnet, and unmistakable signature is its breathtaking, metallic-shimmering foliage: heart- and spear-shaped leaves with expressive, embossed texture and a dazzling metallic silver sheen crossed by hazy emerald-green veins flourish on sturdy petioles. As the plant matures, its leaves become large and develop unique natural cuts and holes (fenestrations), similar to those of monsteras. Amydrium is a climbing tropical plant that becomes increasingly lush and eye-catching with every new leaf. It is currently a nicely established, strong, exceptionally vigorous, and highly promising 10–15 cm young plant in a compact 6 cm pot. This is the most prestigious, tasteful, and guaranteed-to-be-exclusive gift for rare-plant hunters, aroid collectors, and anyone seeking the highest level of tropical luxury for their home!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright, generous, but ABSOLUTELY indirect light. This is the main secret behind the plant’s metallic silver sheen: Amydrium 'Silver' needs plenty of filtered light to retain its famous silver pigmentation and embossed pattern (it will especially enjoy gentle morning sunlight). If the light is insufficient, the sheen will fade. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun, which can quickly burn its precious leaves. Near an east- or west-facing window will be ideal.

  • 💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and very careful. Amydrium prefers consistently light moisture, but it does not tolerate roots standing in water. Water the plant moderately as soon as the top layer of soil has dried slightly between waterings. Since this young plant is in a small 6 cm pot, it will dry out relatively quickly, so monitor its moisture regularly. The plant strictly cannot tolerate its roots standing in water in the saucer, which can quickly cause rot. Reduce watering in winter.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical plant (ideally +20°C to +26°C). Amydrium greatly enjoys high humidity, so it will be extremely grateful for a spot near a humidifier, in a humidified terrarium/plant cabinet, or regular air humidification. In winter, strictly protect it from cold temperatures (below +16°C), dry air from heating radiators, and icy drafts!

  • 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all aroids, Amydrium contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation in cats and dogs if the leaves are chewed. Place this magnificent treasure somewhere inaccessible to your four-legged friends.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

  • Bright plant shelves, especially plant cabinets, terrariums, or locations right next to windows, where this silvery sheen will receive sufficient light and humidity.

  • Modern interiors and rare-plant collections, where metallic natural textures and unusual architecture serve as the main design accent.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 10–15 cm (a compact, strong, vigorous, and highly promising young plant)

  • Pot diameter: 6 cm (an ideal starter volume for the safe development of a young plant’s root system)

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about Amydriums: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and its exact leaf count, shape, and intensity of silver coloration is a completely unique masterpiece of nature – no two plants in the world are identical. Important tip: since Amydrium is a climbing plant, attach it to a moss or coco-fiber support in the future – this will encourage faster growth and help the leaves become considerably larger and more impressive. Since this is a young plant in a 6 cm pot, allow it some time to acclimate to your home’s microclimate. When you eventually repot it into a slightly larger pot, be SURE to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose 'aroid'-type soil mix (peat generously mixed with perlite, bark, and coconut chips).

📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
