CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but MANDATORILY indirect light. Here lies the main secret behind this plant’s lush dark coloration and the coral color of its leaf undersides: the begonia needs plenty of filtered light to preserve the contrasting pigment in its leaves and produce flowers (it will especially enjoy gentle morning sun). Protect it categorically from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can quickly burn its fleshy leaves. An east- or west-facing windowsill will suit it best.

• 💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and very careful. The begonia prefers consistently light soil moisture, but it does not tolerate its roots or stem base sitting in water. Water the plant thoroughly as soon as the top layer of soil (the upper 1–2 cm of the pot) has dried between waterings. Since the specimen is in a 13 cm pot, it will retain moisture moderately well for some time, so the plant categorically cannot tolerate its roots standing in stagnant water in a saucer or decorative pot, which can quickly cause leaf drop and root rot.
