Dwarf Tree Fern or Blechnum (Blechnum gibbum)

This extremely elegant and exotic Dwarf Tree Fern or Blechnum (often called the "Silver Lady" worldwide) is a true wonder of tropical forests! Unlike common ferns, it gradually develops a small, palm-like trunk, at the top of which a symmetrical rosette of bright green, feathery leaves gracefully spreads out. CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Medium bright, diffused light or partial shade. Strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will instantly burn its thin leaves, turning them brown and faded. An east or north-facing windowsill (or a spot slightly away from a south-facing window) is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular and very attentive. The fern likes evenly moist soil – it absolutely cannot tolerate complete drying out, as its leaves will irreversibly dry out and fall off. Water when the top layer of soil is just barely dry, but remember that the plant also cannot tolerate waterlogged roots sitting in standing water in the saucer! It is best to use soft, settled, or filtered water.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature, but the biggest secret to this plant’s beauty is very high air humidity! In dry indoor air, the leaf tips will quickly turn brown and crispy. A humidifier, regular misting, or placing it on a pebble tray with water will be the plant’s best friend. Strictly protect it from cold drafts and dry radiator air!

• Bright bathroom with a window (an absolutely ideal place, as the plant will literally adore the natural humidity there).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its crown fullness may vary slightly. It is important to know nature’s secrets: since this is a tree fern, as it grows larger, its lower (older) leaves will naturally turn brown and dry out, slowly forming its characteristic black trunk (this is not a disease but a normal growth process!). Simply carefully cut off the dried lower leaves at the base. The most important thing – never allow the plant’s "heart," or central rosette from which new leaves grow, to dry out completely! When repotting, be sure to use airy, humus-rich, and moisture-retentive soil (for example, good quality houseplant substrate mixed with perlite or bark pieces) and ensure excellent drainage.
