Royal silver korokia 'Maori Silver' (Corokia cotoneaster 'Maori Silver')
Get ready to bring absolute botanical minimalism into your home or office, the mystique of New Zealand’s nature, and the most striking “architectural” wonder in the world of houseplants – the stunning Korokia 'Maori Silver' (often known as the zigzag bush or wire-netting bush)! This exclusive masterpiece of nature is a true find for lovers of wabi-sabi aesthetics, bonsai trees, and unusual shapes. The plant’s greatest pride, its magnet and unmistakable signature, is its breathtaking, sculptural silhouette: slender, dark, angular and intricately branched zigzag stems, reminiscent of natural wire netting, are sparsely, yet elegantly dotted with microscopic, silvery-green leaves (with white, fuzzy undersides). This translucent, airy, three-dimensional little shrub looks like a living graphic drawing against a light-colored wall. It has now grown into a neat, sturdy, distinctly structured and very stylish 20-25 cm tall plant in a generous 12 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful and artistic gift to bless a home, for design enthusiasts and anyone looking for a visually stunning, unusual wonder of nature!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright, abundant light. Herein lies the secret to this plant's dense branching and silvery hue: Corokia needs plenty of light, and will also thrive in direct morning or afternoon sunlight. In insufficient light, it will become leggy and lose its tiny leaves. A south, east, or west-facing windowsill will be perfect.
-
💧 Watering: Moderate and very careful! Corokia has a delicate root system, which requires a happy medium. Water the plant when the top 2-3 centimeters of soil have dried out. It absolutely cannot tolerate its roots sitting in standing water in the saucer, but it also must not be allowed to dry out completely (if it dries out, its tiny leaves will quickly wither and fall off).
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A lover of coolness and fresh air! This plant thrives in moderate indoor temperatures, but it absolutely hates hot, stuffy, dry air from heating radiators. In winter, it's best to place it in a cooler, well-ventilated room (+10°C to +15°C).
-
🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Non-toxic. Corokia is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe to have in your home with curious cats and dogs.
🏠 BEST ROOM:
-
Minimalist living rooms, bright entryways, cooler bedrooms, and desks, where this structured plant will serve as a refined art installation against a light background.
-
Japandi, wabi-sabi, Scandinavian, or industrial-style interiors, where nature's imperfections and "bare" silhouettes are celebrated as a design feature.

⚠️ A note and a dose of reality about Corokia: Plants are living organisms, and when purchasing a Corokia, you need to understand its aesthetic: this plant is naturally meant to look a little "withered" or "half-naked"! It is not a deciduous shrub that will delight you with lush greenery - its main value lies precisely in the interplay of its branching lines. If the plant suddenly starts dropping leaves, the most common cause is air that is too dry and hot (radiators), or the roots drying out suddenly. Corokia is also ideal for shaping (pruning) and is very often used to create bonsai trees as houseplants. When you repot it in the future, BE SURE to use a light, very well-draining houseplant potting mix, generously mixed with perlite or sand.
🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.
❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.
⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
