CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: A generous, bright, well-lit environment. This is the main secret behind the plant’s firm and magnificent leaves: the cycad loves light. To maintain its symmetrical shape, rich jade tone, and enough energy to produce a new crown of leaves once a year, place it in the brightest location possible. It also tolerates gentle, direct morning or late-evening sunlight very well. However, protect it from the most intense midday sun during the summer heat if the plant has not been gradually acclimatized to it. It will do best on an east- or west-facing windowsill, or in a spot directly near a south-facing window.

• 💧 Watering: Extremely moderate, infrequent, and very careful. Since the cycad’s massive base stores large reserves of moisture, the plant does not tolerate living in a constant swamp. Water the plant thoroughly, but only when the soil in the pot has completely, 100% dried out all the way to the very bottom of the pot between waterings! Since the specimen is in a stable 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture slightly longer, so the plant categorically cannot tolerate its roots soaking in standing water in the saucer, which can quickly cause root and base rot. During the winter months, reduce watering to an absolute minimum (once a month will be entirely sufficient). If in doubt – never water!

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It feels excellent and comfortable in warmth and room temperatures (+18°C to +25°C). This plant tolerates dry indoor air completely without any problems, the heat of the heating season, and requires no mandatory misting or additional humidification, making it an exceptionally easy-care plant. ⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about cycads: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its precise leaf spread, length, or number of leaflets may vary slightly, creating a one-of-a-kind natural form (there are no two completely identical cycads in the world). An important secret of nature: the cycad grows extremely slowly, and a new “wave” of leaves usually appears only once a year (in spring or summer), when several soft, light-green leaves emerge simultaneously from the center of the base, unfolding and hardening over the course of a few weeks. During this period, the plant must not be rotated, so that the new leaves do not grow crooked. Since this is already a nicely mature specimen in a stable 12 cm pot, it will not need repotting for a very long time (cycads prefer tight pots). When you eventually repot it, you MUST use an extremely airy, well-draining, and porous palm or cactus soil mix, generously blended with perlite and sand so that excess water drains through the pot immediately.
