Milija Euphorbia 'Vulcanic' or Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii 'Vulcanic')

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight. Euphorbia is a true sun lover – the more sunlight it receives, the more abundantly and longer it will bloom. A south or southwest-facing windowsill is an absolutely ideal choice. In a dark place, the plant will stretch and stop flowering.

• 💧 Watering: Rare and careful. Allow the top layer of soil and even part of the deeper soil (at least 3-5 cm) to dry out completely between waterings. Euphorbia stores water in its fleshy stems, so it tolerates drought well but absolutely cannot tolerate overwatering and sitting in standing water, which quickly causes root rot. Watering should be significantly reduced during the winter months.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature and literally loves normal, dry indoor air. It must not be misted! In warm summer months, the plant will be extremely happy if you take it outside into the sun on a terrace or balcony.

• 🐾 Pets: Absolutely not pet-friendly! This plant requires great caution. First, its stems are covered with sharp thorns. Second, euphorbia contains a white, sticky sap (latex) that is extremely toxic and strongly irritates skin and mucous membranes. Keep it strictly out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• Sunny windowsill in the living room or kitchen (where it will get direct sun for flower bud formation).

• Bright office (as a patient and colorful addition to the work environment that does not require frequent watering).

• Sunny balcony or terrace in summer (where the heat will coax out the most flowers).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may differ slightly from the one shown in the picture. It is important to remember – if you plan to repot the plant or prune any dried branches, always wear gardening gloves to protect your hands from thorns and the plant’s toxic sap, and avoid getting the sap in your eyes! Also, don’t worry if the plant drops some leaves during the dark winter months – they will grow back in spring.
