Australian Silk Oak or Grevillea (Grevillea robusta)

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, diffused light with some direct sunlight (especially morning or afternoon sun). To prevent the plant from stretching and to keep it bushy, it needs plenty of light. An east, west, or even south-facing windowsill is ideal.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate but regular. Allow the top layer of soil (about 2-3 cm) to dry out slightly between waterings. The plant does not tolerate standing water (which quickly causes root rot) nor complete drying out, to which it will immediately respond by dropping its delicate leaves.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well in cooler rooms. In winter months, it is even recommended to place it in a bright but cooler spot (around 10–15°C) to allow it to rest. Protect it strictly from direct heat from radiators and dry air drafts! During warm summer months, this plant will literally come alive if you take it outside to fresh air on a balcony or terrace.

• 🐾 Pets: Exercise caution. The plant’s sap can cause allergic skin irritation (contact dermatitis) in some people and pets, so keep it out of easy reach of your furry friends and wear gloves when pruning or repotting.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

• Bright and cooler bedroom (will bring a calming, airy forest atmosphere to the room).

• Living room by a large window (as a striking, structural, and very noticeable green accent).

• Balcony, terrace, or conservatory (where the plant will get maximum light and fresh air).
