Royal double amaryllis (hippeastrum) 'Pretty Nymph' (Hippeastrum 'Pretty Nymph')
Get ready to bring absolute botanical theater into your home, the most luxurious winter and spring blooming show, and one of the most dramatic wonders of the houseplant world – the stunning Hippeastrum 'Pretty Nymph' (commonly and traditionally known as amaryllis)! This natural masterpiece is a real find for fans of giant, regal flowers. The greatest pride, showstopper, and unmistakable signature of this particular and exclusive 'Nymph' series variety are its breathtaking flowers: huge, fleshy flower stalks bear enormous, double (with multiple rows of petals) flowers, shimmering in a play of soft pink and creamy white shades, interwoven with delicate, darker pink veining. At the height of bloom, it looks like a luxurious, three-dimensional cross between a peony and an orchid! This product is currently offered as a large, strong bulb without a pot or soil – ready for your personal planting ritual. It is the most prestigious, stylish, and interactive gift for gardening enthusiasts, romantics, and anyone who wants to witness the magical process with their own eyes, when a "simple bulb" literally grows into an impressive work of natural art before your eyes (in 6-8 weeks)!
CARE AND PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: You can initially keep a newly planted bulb in moderate light. However, as soon as the first green shoot appears (a flower stalk or leaf), be SURE to move it to the brightest, sunniest (south-, east-, or west-facing) windowsill! Plenty of light is critically important for the flower stalk to grow straight and strong, rather than becoming long and spindly, weak, and unable to support the heavy double flowers.
-
💧 Watering: At first - almost none! As soon as you plant the bulb, water the soil just once and forget about watering until a clearly visible green shoot about 5 cm long appears! If you water the bulb before it starts sprouting, it will simply rot. When the plant is actively growing, water it regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist, but drain excess water from the saucer. Pour water onto the soil, making SURE to avoid pouring it directly onto the bulb!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: To wake the bulb and encourage sprouting, a comfortably warm room temperature is needed (+21°C to +24°C). However, once the huge flowers open, you can extend their blooming period by placing the plant in a slightly cooler spot (+18°C). It absolutely does not need any misting.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Amaryllis bulbs, leaves, and flowers are highly toxic. They contain lycorine and other alkaloids, which, if chewed, cause severe vomiting, tremors, and serious digestive problems in dogs and cats.
🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:
-
Bright windowsills in living rooms, the dining table centerpiece (when in bloom), and bright kitchen windows, where this giant flower will serve as the room's absolute focal point and a "wow" effect.
-
Classic, romantic, modern, or "cottagecore" interiors, where its abundant, soft pink flowers will bring an exceptionally strong feeling of spring.
SPECIFICATIONS:

Condition: Large dormant flower bulb (supplied without a pot or soil, ready for planting)
⚠️ A note and a dose of reality about hippeastrums: Plants are living organisms, and, when growing this bulbous plant, you must strictly follow the golden rule of planting: the bulb MUST NOT be buried completely in the soil! After planting, about 1/3 (up to half) of the top of the bulb MUST be left above the soil level. Choose a pot that is only about 3-5 cm wider than the bulb itself, as hippeastrums like to grow in "tight quarters." Another important fact: once the spectacular flowering show is over, don't throw the bulb away! Cut off the spent flower stalk, but continue watering generously throughout spring and summer, fertilizing it and growing the plant's long green leaves. It is through the leaves that the bulb will store energy, then enter dormancy in autumn (the leaves will wither), so it can bloom again next winter! When planting, use a high-quality, nutrient-rich, well-draining houseplant potting mix.
🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.
❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.
⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
