Royal Exotic Spider-Flower Amaryllis 'Red Amazone' (Hippeastrum 'Red Amazone')
Get ready to bring absolute botanical passion, wild energy, and the most fiery flowering show in the world of houseplants into your home - the stunning Amaryllis 'Red Amazone'! This exclusive natural masterpiece belongs to the special Cybister (spider-flower) amaryllis group and is a true find for admirers of unconventional, dramatic beauty. The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unmistakable signature are its breathtaking flowers: asymmetrical, star-shaped flowers with narrow, airy, elegantly curved petals that shimmer in rich, fiery red and crimson tones with a delicate, contrasting greenish accent in the flower's throat bloom on a strong flower stalk. This narrow petal shape and intense color create an incredibly dimensional, tropical, and visually luxurious aesthetic, reminiscent of an exotic bird in flight. It is the most prestigious, tasteful, and interactive gift for blessing a home, design enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to experience this captivating magic of nature with their own eyes - from planting a "bare" bulb to the grand triumph of flowering!
CARE AND PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: While the bulb is being planted and has not yet sprouted, the amount of light is not very important. However, as soon as the flower stalk appears and begins to stretch rapidly, place it in the brightest possible location (in bright, indirect light). If there is not enough light, the flower stalk will become leggy and fragile and may break under the weight of the exotic flowers.
-
💧 Watering: The golden rule of planting and watering! Plant the bulb so that at least 1/3 (or even half) of the bulb itself remains above the soil surface. At first, while the bulb has not developed roots and a green sprout, hardly water it at all or keep the soil only minimally moist. As soon as the flower stalk has grown (about 5-10 cm), start watering regularly, but never allow the bulb to stand in stagnant water!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: To wake the bulb and encourage its growth, it initially needs room warmth (+20°C to +24°C). However, once the fiery, curved flowers have fully bloomed, move the plant to a slightly cooler location - the coolness will keep the flowers fresh and allow them to delight you for considerably longer! Additional air humidification is not necessary.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Amaryllis bulbs, as well as their leaves and flowers, are highly toxic (they contain lycorine and other alkaloids). Ingestion causes severe vomiting and digestive tract problems in dogs and cats. Keep the bulb and, later, the flowering plant out of their reach!
🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:
-
Formal dining tables, fireplace mantels, chests of drawers, and sunny windowsills, where this dramatic, fiery flowering show will serve as the absolute central design element and attract everyone's attention.
-
Modern, classic, or tropical (botanical-style) interiors, where this variety's unusual, slender architecture and intense color will stand out most vividly.
SPECIFICATION:
-
Condition: A strong, healthy bulb prepared for flowering (without soil or a pot, ready for your chosen planting project)
-
Expected height: When the flower stalk reaches full maturity, the plant will be approximately 40-50 cm tall.
⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about amaryllis: Bulbs are living energy reservoirs! An important dose of reality: from planting the bulb to the opening of the first flowers usually takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Be patient! The biggest mistake people make is overwatering the "bare" bulb immediately after planting, which causes it to rot before it has had a chance to awaken. For planting, you MUST use a light, very well-draining houseplant substrate and a pot with drainage holes in the bottom. Once flowering is over, do not cut off the long, green leaves - they will continue to nourish the bulb so it can build up strength and bloom again the following year!
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
