The exquisite double amaryllis (hippeastrum) 'White Amadeus' XL (38/40 cm)
Get ready to bring absolute botanical luxury into your home, snowy white elegance, and one of the most spectacular flowering wonders of the houseplant world – the stunning Hippeastrum 'White Amadeus'! This natural masterpiece is a true find for lovers of grand scale and clean lines. The greatest pride of this variety, its showstopper and unmistakable signature are its breathtaking flowers: magnificent, double flowers with multiple rows of petals bloom on massive flower stalks, shining in pure, snowy white with a very subtle, visually refreshing lime green tint at the very center of the flower. At the height of its bloom, it looks like a luxurious, voluminous and expensive cloud of white peonies! This is an exceptionally large, heavy and exclusive XL size (38/40 cm in circumference) bulb. This gigantic caliber guarantees the highest flowering potential – it will produce at least 2 to 3 massive flower stalks, creating a long-lasting and extraordinarily abundant floral display. It is the most prestigious, stylish and interactive gift for design aesthetes, gardening enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to experience a boldly magnificent, living white sculpture of nature in their living room.
CARE AND PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: At first, you can keep a newly planted bulb in moderate light. However, as soon as the first green shoot (flower stalk or leaf) appears, be SURE to move it to the brightest and sunniest windowsill (south, east, or west)! Abundant light is critically important for the flower stalk to grow straight, strong, and able to support the weight of the gigantic double flower.
-
💧 Watering: At first - almost not at all! As soon as you plant the bulb, water the soil just once and forget about watering until a clearly visible green shoot, about 5 cm long, appears! If you water the bulb before sprouting begins, it will simply rot. When the plant is actively growing, water it regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist, but immediately pour off any excess water from the saucer. Pour water around the edge of the pot, making SURE to avoid pouring it directly onto the bulb!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: To wake the bulb and encourage sprouting, a comfortable room temperature is needed (+21°C to +24°C). However, when the white flowers open, you can significantly extend their blooming period by placing the plant in a slightly cooler spot (+18°C). It absolutely does not need any misting.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Hippeastrum bulbs, leaves, and flowers are highly toxic. They contain lycorine and other alkaloids, which, when chewed, cause severe vomiting, tremors, and serious digestive problems in dogs and cats.
🏠 BEST ROOM:
-
Dining table centerpiece (when in bloom), bright windowsills and dressers, where this cloud of white flowers will serve as the room's absolute design focal point.
-
Modern, minimalist, classic or Scandinavian interiors, where the white color will bring a sense of purity, spaciousness and sophistication.
SPECIFICATION:
-
Size/Condition: XL 38/40 cm circumference. An extremely strong and large dormant flower bulb (supplied without a pot or soil, ready for planting).
-
Height: The expected flower stalk height during flowering is approximately 40–55 cm.
⚠️ A note and a reality check about hippeastrums: Plants are living organisms, and, when growing a bulb of this caliber, you must strictly follow two golden botanical rules! First: The bulb MUST NOT be buried completely in the soil! After planting, approximately 1/3 of the top of the bulb MUST be left above the soil level. Second: this is a gigantic size 38/40 bulb, which will produce extremely heavy double flowers. You MUST plant it in a large, heavy, stable ceramic or clay pot! In a lightweight plastic pot, this plant is guaranteed to topple over from its massive weight at the peak of flowering. Once the magnificent flowering show is over, don't throw the bulb away - cut off the spent flower stalks (when they start to wilt), continue watering generously throughout spring and summer, and fertilize and grow the plant's long green leaves. It is through these leaves that the bulb will store energy and nutrients, so it can bloom again next year.
🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.
❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.
⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
