This extremely charming and highly popular among collectors Wax Flower 'Mathilde' is a true botanical wonder! This unique hybrid (created by crossing Hoya carnosa and Hoya serpens) combines the best qualities of both parents. It stands out with its distinctive, small, perfectly round, coin-shaped leaves, often adorned with silvery speckles (called splashes in English). Under the right conditions, this delicate vine delights with wonderful, fluffy, white to pale pink star-shaped flower clusters that emit a gentle, sweet fragrance in the evenings. It is a compact, dynamic, and support-climbing or trailing houseplant that adds a very delicate, unusual, and cozy natural accent to any interior. It is an ideal, completely safe, and very valuable gift for both experienced plant lovers and aesthetes, as well as for those who do not have much space for large plants at home!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For the Hoya to bloom abundantly and maintain the beautiful silver speckles on its leaves, it needs a lot of light. It can survive in partial shade, but growth will slow down and the plant is unlikely to flower. Strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will quickly burn its small leaves and turn them yellow.

• 💧 Watering: Infrequent and very careful. Hoya’s round leaves are thick and fleshy (they store water like succulents), so they tolerate drying out much better than overwatering! Allow the soil to almost completely dry out between watering. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot and plant death.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well at standard room temperature and adapts quite well to normal indoor air. This tropical plant won’t mind slightly increased humidity but should not be excessively misted. Strictly protect from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This delicate vine is non-toxic and completely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 BEST LOCATION:

• Bright shelf or small hanging pot (allowing its delicate tendrils with round leaves to hang freely downward).

• Bright desk or windowsill (an ideal mini-sized plant that won’t take up much space and will please the eyes).

• Bedroom (as a safe and aesthetically pleasing interior addition).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may slightly differ from the description (the amount and intensity of silver speckles on the leaves are unique to each plant). It is important to know the secrets of nature about Hoyas: they are characterized by suddenly producing long, "bare" tendrils without leaves. Never cut these off! On these tendrils, new round leaves will eventually grow, and flower clusters may form. Also remember – when the Hoya has finished blooming, do not cut off the old flower stalk, because next year new flowers will form from the same stalk! When repotting, be sure to use very light and loose soil (soil richly mixed with orchid bark and perlite works great) so that the epiphytic roots can breathe freely.
