Cambria or Cambria Orchid (Cambria)

This exceptionally beautiful and exotic Cambria is not found in the wild—it is a specially created orchid hybrid that combines the best qualities of several botanical species to delight us with stunning, patterned flowers while being easy to grow at home. It stands out with long, graceful flower stems and flowers often adorned in mottled burgundy, yellow, pink, or white shades, as well as interesting swellings (pseudobulbs) at the base of the plant. This refined and elegant flowering houseplant will add a luxurious, tropical atmosphere to any interior. It is a wonderful, long-flowering gift both for experienced orchid growers and for anyone who loves color and the beauty of nature!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light. For Cambria to flower abundantly and produce new shoots, it needs plenty of light. An east- or west-facing windowsill is best. It must be protected from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which will quickly burn its light green leaves.

• 💧 Watering: Special care and moderation are required. It is best to water the orchid by submerging the pot in room-temperature water for 10–15 minutes, then allowing the excess water to drain completely. Unlike phalaenopsis orchids, Cambria’s roots should not be allowed to dry out completely (the substrate should be slightly moist, but not wet). Soft, filtered, or rainwater is preferable for watering.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It thrives at standard room temperature. To encourage new flower stems to develop, the plant particularly enjoys slight temperature fluctuations between day and night (cooler at night). It appreciates higher air humidity, but never spray water directly onto the flowers, as this will cause unattractive spots and make the flowers wilt quickly.

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly. This flowering tropical beauty is non-toxic and completely safe to have in your home with cats and dogs.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

• Bright bedroom (if the room becomes slightly cooler at night, this will greatly encourage the orchid to flower).

• Living room by an east- or west-facing window (as an absolute focal point and flowering accent).

• Bright bathroom with a window (where the plant can enjoy naturally higher humidity, but beware of excessive heat).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may differ slightly from the one shown in the image. Since “Cambria” is the name of a group of hybrids, the color, shape, and patterns of the flowers may vary considerably. Important to know: the swellings (pseudobulbs) at the base of the plant are stores of water and nutrients. When the plant is flowering or lacks moisture, these bulbs may wrinkle slightly—this is completely natural. Once the flower stem has completely withered and turned brown, it can safely be cut off.
