CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. To maintain its beautiful dark leaf coloration and bloom abundantly, it needs a lot of light. In too dark a place, it will quickly become leggy, the leaves will turn dull greenish, and the plant most likely will not flower. An east or west-facing windowsill is ideal, but protect it from very harsh midday sun rays that can burn the thin leaves.

• 💧 Watering: Regular and attentive. The volcanic oxalis dislikes prolonged dryness (leaves will quickly droop) – allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings, but try to keep the soil evenly lightly moist. Since the plant is in a relatively small (10.5 cm) pot, expect that the soil will dry out faster than in larger houseplants. However, the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root rot caused by standing water in the saucer, which will cause decay.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well at standard room temperature and adapts quite well to normal indoor light. This plant does not require special misting. In summer, it can safely be placed outside in fresh air on a balcony or terrace! In winter, protect it strictly from cold drafts.

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is mildly toxic to cats and dogs. It contains oxalic acid, which can cause digestive upset, drooling, and irritation if chewed. Keep it out of reach of pets!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• Bright windowsill or desk (where there is enough light for the plant to flower and delight with leaf movements).

• Hanging pot or high shelf (since it naturally grows lush and trailing, this is a great position).

• Bright living room (as a romantic and dynamic interior addition).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its leaf coloration may vary. Important to know: don’t be alarmed if the plant’s leaves fold down in the evening – this is a natural process (nyctinasty), not thirst! Also, oxalis plants may become leggy or "bare" at the base over time. If this happens, you can safely and drastically prune it – it will quickly regenerate, sprout new dense shoots, and become bushy again! Very soon (when the roots have fully filled the pot), it will need repotting into a slightly larger pot with airy houseplant soil.
