Blue Star Fern 'Blue Star' (Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star')

This extremely stylish and unusual Blue Star Fern attracts attention with its deeply lobed, wavy leaves and completely unique, silvery bluish-green (smoky) color. Unlike many other often finicky ferns, 'Blue Star' is surprisingly resilient and adaptable. It is an excellent and very decorative houseplant that will add a calming, wild, yet elegant accent to any interior, and it is also a great air purifier. It will be a very delightful, safe, and lush gift for any nature lover, bringing true forest magic into the home.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, diffused light or light partial shade. To maintain the beautiful bluish-green leaf tone, the plant needs light, but it must be strictly protected from direct, scorching sunlight, which will quickly bleach and burn its thin leaves.

• 💧 Watering: Regular. Keep the soil evenly moist but not wet or muddy. Important: thick, fuzzy rhizomes (like bunny paws) are visible at the plant’s base – when watering, never pour water directly into the plant’s center or on these rhizomes, as they can rot quickly! It’s best to water carefully along the pot’s edge or from below (through the saucer).

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature. Although this fern tolerates drier air better than many of its relatives, it still strongly prefers higher air humidity. The plant will appreciate regular misting around it but protect it from cold drafts and direct heat from heaters in winter.

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This smoky forest beauty is non-toxic and completely safe to have in your home with cats and dogs.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

• Bathroom with a window (an absolutely ideal environment where the plant can enjoy naturally higher humidity and continuously produce new leaves).

• Bedroom (the bluish tone will create a calming atmosphere and quietly purify the room’s air for restful sleep).

• Living room (placed on a plant stand to highlight its lush and asymmetrical foliage).
