Plumeria or Frangipani 'Hawaiian Mix' (Plumeria)
This extremely exotic, legendary, and breathtaking plant is a true embodiment of tropical paradise in your home! Worldwide, plumeria is best known as the iconic plant of Hawaiian flower leis (lei), which emits an indescribably wonderful, intoxicatingly sweet and strong fragrance (especially in the evenings and at night). It features a sturdy, succulent-like stem and long, tropical leaves. The biggest "twist" of this particular plant is the surprise factor – it comes from a color mix, so the exact flower color is currently unknown! You can look forward to a wonderful and exciting mystery until the plant blooms, revealing whether its flowers will be bright pink, yellow, white, red, or perhaps a fantastic combination of several tones. It is a majestic, sun-loving, and very exclusive houseplant that will add a luxurious resort, romantic, and sophisticated natural accent to any interior. It is an ideal, joy-enhancing, and highly valuable gift for experienced plant lovers and anyone who adores blooming and fragrant exotic plants!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight! For plumeria to form flower buds and reveal its mysterious color, it vitally needs an extremely large amount of sun (at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day). A south or southwest-facing windowsill or a sunny winter garden will be absolutely ideal and almost the only correct choice.
-
💧 Watering: Very different depending on the season! In summer (active growth period), water abundantly but always allow the top layer of soil to dry completely between waterings. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer! In contrast, watering must be reduced to an absolute minimum in winter (only slightly moistening the soil to prevent the stem from shriveling).
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Loves heat and literally adores warm, sunny summers. During summer months, it is highly recommended to take it outside into fresh air on the sunniest terrace or balcony! In winter, strictly protect it from cold and open windows (temperature must not drop below 12-15°C). No special misting is needed.
-
🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic! Its stem and leaves contain a white, milky sap (latex) that is irritating and poisonous. Contact with skin can cause an allergic reaction, and ingestion can cause severe digestive issues and vomiting. Keep it absolutely out of reach of pets and small children!
🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:
-
The brightest and sunniest south-facing windowsill in the home (an absolute prerequisite for this plant to bloom).
-
A bright and warm winter garden (where it can enjoy conditions close to the tropics).
-
A sunny terrace in summer (where the plant will gain strength for flowering).
SPECIFICATIONS:
-
Height: 45-50 cm
-

Flower color: Unknown (Color MIX – a big surprise!)
⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may vary slightly. The most important natural secret you need to know about plumeria: it is a deciduous plant! As winter approaches, days shorten, and light decreases, plumeria will turn yellow and drop all its leaves, remaining just a "bare tree" – don’t be alarmed, the plant is not dead! It is simply entering a natural winter dormancy (rest period). During this time, place it in a cooler spot and practically stop watering. In spring, as the sun returns, beautiful green leaves and flower buds will reappear at the top of the stem. When pruning or repotting the plant, always wear gloves to prevent the toxic white sap from getting on your skin or in your eyes! When repotting, be sure to use extremely light and loose soil (a mix of cactus/succulent soil and perlite works great).
