Royal Emerald String Rhipsalis 'Easy Sweet' (Rhipsalis 'Easy Sweet')

Get ready to bring flawless tropical dynamics, modern luxury greenery, and the airiest silhouette in the world of houseplants into your home or office – the stunning Rhipsalis 'Easy Sweet'! This exotic member of the cactus family completely breaks the stereotypes of classic, spiny desert plants – in the wild, it thrives as an epiphyte on the branches of South American rainforest trees, forming magnificent cascades of green strings. The plant’s greatest pride, magnet, and calling card is its breathtaking structure: from a dense, distinctly lush, and mighty base grow hundreds of fine, smooth, segmented shoots (strings) in a soft, light green emerald tone. These airy strings boldly branch out as they grow forward and cascade over the pot’s edges, visually creating a surreal "green waterfall" or hair arrangement effect. When mature, the plant can bloom with tiny, delicate flowers followed by decorative, bead-like berries. In addition to its avant-garde design, this rhipsalis is legendary for its outstanding resilience – it has a distinctly "easy to love" (easy) character that requires no complicated care. It is now grandly grown, strong, extremely thick, and an impressive specimen with 30–40 cm long strings in a generously sized 17 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, modern, and guaranteed unforgettable gift for home blessings, elite interiors, and anyone seeking grand natural architecture with minimal care!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Medium bright to pleasantly light, but MUST be diffused light. Here lies the main secret to this plant’s lushness and vibrancy: Rhipsalis 'Easy Sweet' enjoys generous lighting (including gentle morning or late evening sun), which gives it the energy to actively branch and grow new strings. However, it strictly and categorically cannot tolerate direct midday sun, which will instantly dry out or burn its delicate shoots. The best spot is near an east or west window, and it also adapts perfectly to partial room shade deeper inside the room.

  • 💧 Watering: Moderate, regular, and very thoughtful. Although this is a cactus, it naturally lives in rainforests, so it likes a bit more moisture than its desert relatives but cannot tolerate swampy conditions. Water the plant generously, but only when the top layer of soil (the upper third of the pot) is completely dry between waterings! Since the plant is in a large, generous 17 cm pot, it retains moisture longer, so the plant strictly cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer or decorative container, which can cause sensitive root rot. Reduce watering in winter. If in doubt – better wait a few days, as the plant easily tolerates short-term dryness.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C). Unlike many other rainforest plants, rhipsalis, due to its thick shoot structure, adapts excellently and completely without problems to normal, dry indoor air and does not require mandatory air humidification, making it an exceptionally grateful houseplant even during the winter heating season. The only rule: protect it from temperatures dropping below +12°C and icy drafts in winter!

  • 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This exotic and airy emerald rhipsalis is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

  • High shelves, tops of cabinets, or places in large hanging pots where this grand cascade of green strings can flow freely and elegantly down in all its splendor, attracting everyone’s gaze.

  • Modern living rooms, spacious home offices, or creative studios where clean lines, minimalist or Scandinavian design create an excellent visual balance with the plant’s bold and lush silhouette.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height (string length): 30–40 cm (grandly grown, long, distinctly thick, lush, and already visually impressive specimen)

  • Pot diameter: 17 cm (large, stable, and generous volume that ensures an excellent and strong root system long-term)

⚠️ Note and dose of reality: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its exact string length, branching density, or shoot development may vary slightly, creating a unique natural form (there are no two identical plants in the world). Since this is already an exceptionally mature, large, and grown specimen in a stable and generous 17 cm pot, it is extremely strong and will not require immediate repotting for a very long time (even a year or two). When you repot it in the distant future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and well-draining soil mix (peat generously mixed with perlite and fine pine/orchid bark) to ensure the roots get oxygen and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
