CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s sculptural beauty: for 'Dragon Scale' to maintain its compact form and expressive dark vein contrast, it requires a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy the gentle morning or late evening sun rays). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly and irreversibly burn its unique, precious leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Extremely moderate and very thoughtful! As a typical jewel alocasia with thick, succulent leaves, this plant does not tolerate overwatering. Allow the top layer of soil and the middle layer (the upper third of the pot) to dry out thoroughly between watering sessions! Since the young plant is in a small 6 cm mini pot, it will dry out relatively quickly, but the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause sensitive root and tuber rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

When you repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine orchid bark) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
